      Paint can be used as a coating to decorate a surface or substrate. It has a wide variety of colour, texture, finishes and gross level. Paint can be designed to protect the surface or substrate against ultra-violet rays, humidity, chemicals, corrosion, algae, abrasion etc.

         A paint program is a software graphics program that allows the user to draw orpaint bitmapped images on a computer. Though most are discontinued, examples include: KolourPaint, XPaint, Deluxe Paint, MacPaint, and Microsoft Paint, which is shown in the picture.

          A painting tool is a tool or function in a graphics editing or painting program used to change the area of the canvas or image by adding paint strokes or filling the areas with color.
